Hearing aid trials
Many audiologists will allow you to trial a hearing aid.
Some hearing aids require a specific individual fitting and some like the one pictured to the left can simply have a dome (the silicon at the bottom) fitted to the aid.
You do not necessarily need a trial
Some independent audiologists prefer not to trial hearing aids as they believe it adds to the overall cost structure. Just because your local hearing centre does not offer hearing aid trials does not necessarily mean they are not the right audiologists for you.
What is really important:
- Correct fitting and testing
- Follow ethics code of ethics (Australian Association of Audiologists in Private Practise)
- After care provided (either free or at a reasonable cost)
