Slim Hearing Aids
There are a number of major hearing aid manufacturers who have a "slim" hearing aid model.
Signia Styletto X was the "world's first SLIM-RIC". Receier in the Canal (RIC) is a style of hearing aid where the receiver of the device is actually in your ear, thus utilising your ear's anatomy.
The actual mechanism is behind the ear. Hence the reference to slim is that the engine room of the hearing aid is slim and behind your ear.
Signia won the Red Dot Design Award 2019 for Styletto Connect and iF Design Award 2019 for Styletto.
Given the recent popularity of wearable devices like Apple AirPods, no one is going to blink when a functional hearing aid is also stylish. In fact new hearing aids have advantages when it comes to discreetly streaming or taking hands-free phone calls.
Latest Slim Hearing Aids
Both Phonak and Unitron now have slim models in their latest hearing aids.
